BDSM Songs: The Bondage Song by London After Midnight
It is time for me to share another sexy song! I am a bit of a music buff and I thought I would let that side of myself shine through on my blog as well. Each week I pick a song that has a bit of a BDSM or kinky feel to it. Last week I picked Lagartija Nick by Bauhaus, a punky goth song giving you the right feel for a whipping session, for sure! And this week? This week I am choosing The Bondage Song by London After Midnight.
London After Midnight are one of the few 1990s goth bands that didn’t choose an electro-only theme. Amazingly enough, they are still around. I can only think of a handful of bands that managed to do that. They are L.A based which makes them even more interesting, because most goth bands are from Europe. A lot of their music is political, but there are also a lot of songs that have a heavy goth theme, and well, and a few ones that are definitely about BDSM.
Sean Brennan, the singer, is well-known for his bondage-inspired stage look. Additionally, the band’s whole aesthetic is very gothic. but there are definitely some BDSM elements in it as well, as is the case with so many gothic bands. Well, and I also want to add that Sean Brennan is very pleasant to the eyes, and the few times I have seen them live, I was quite mesmerized by him. *fans herself*
The Bondage Song is maybe not their most known song (Sacrifice and Kiss are most popular, I believe) but it has a very strong BDSM theme to it. Well, uh, the song title already says it all, really! Although there is not a lot about the slow art of rope in the tune, it definitely is about the primal dark need of control and wanting to make someone yours. Give the song a listen!
Innocent child,
how you thought you knew me,
understood my ways,
my dark needs,
the hunt is not the thrill I’m after,
I want the kill, the conquest,
to be your master,
wrap your arms around my pale skin,
it’s too late to back out you’re in,
on your knees and praise your new lord,
deeper now, and here’s your reward,
take me to bed and rip me apart…
take me to bed and rip me apart…
take me to bed and rip me apart…
take me to bed and rip me apart…
take me to bed and rip me apart…
take me to bed and rip me apart…
take me to bed and rip me apart..
Nice pick! I have to admit that the goth/industrial movement missed me during the 90’s and 00’s as I went more down the indie route, but I do like me some thumping rhythms and grindy guitars. Brennan is definitely a poster boy for that look too!
I still mostly listen to 80s goth music, but there are some good newer goth bands though. Brennan looks very much like most goths looked like in the 90s! Even I wore similar clothes, and goggles back then, ha!
