This month’s prompt for Sinful Sunday is Single Subject. Sometimes when we see just one thing about a subject, we think that it is all there is to it. We don’t think of different perspectives, we don’t look at things in depth. We get this one single glimpse, and we don’t give it a second thought. It is what draws our attention, it is what demands our focus. But it is in the imagination that we can think further than just this one single view that we are allowed to see. What is inside? What does it look like from the other side? Where does it come from? Minimizing anything, a person or an object, to the first thing you see about them, is never the right way to learn about the world. The beauty is letting your mind run free and imagining all the histories, perspectives and possibilities.
