Monday Music – BDSM & Sex Songs – Venus in Furs by The Velvet Underground

When I was a teenager, people still gifted each other mixed tapes. Depending on what was on that tape, you could guess the person’s intentions for you. It was like the music and the lyrics spoke for the emotions that someone tried to convey to you. The choice of bands and songs was also a great way to see if you were musically compatible with someone. A lot of the songs were seductive or sexual which made it all a bit more fun!

Well, I was not musically or sexually compatible with a lot of people! I was into alternative music, into goth music, some rock music. I liked rough or dark music, just like how I want my sex to be!

Music is still one of my biggest passions! There doesn’t go a day that I don’t listen to music. So I listen to it when I write, when I read, when I chat with people. Discovering new bands is something that I love, and at the same time I am very attached to the music from my teenage years. I have been to almost 1000 concerts in my life, to dozens upon dozens festivals. Basically, music is very important to me!

So I thought I’d also reflect that a little in my blog. Every Monday I will share a song and discuss why I think it is a sexy song! Venus in Furs

My first pick is the song “Venus in Furs” by The Velvet Underground. They were a 1960s rock band that laid the foundation for a lot of punk, goth and rock music that came later. They were very much involved in the art movement from that time as well, and will forever be linked to Andy Warhol.

“Venus in Furs” is a slow, dark and seductive song. I can imagine it being played at the beginning of a playscene, a dominant walking around a submissive, tied down. The whip gently brushing the naked skin. Anticipation building up.
