BDSM Songs: Lagartija Nick by Bauhaus

Time for another BDSM and sexy music post! Last week I picked Master and Servant by Depeche Mode. That is definitely a tune that will make your tushies wiggle! This week I am going with Lagartija Nick by Bauhaus. It was only a matter of time until I went with a Bauhaus song. What did you all expect? Goths are kind of predictable!

Bauhaus are a band that got founded in the late 1970s and they were part of the punk and postpunk movement. Until 1979 when their song “Bela Lugosis’ Dead” got released. It got featured in the film “The Hunger” (David Bowie is playing a vampire in that one, totally worth watching!) and it was the first song that was ever described as ‘gothic’. Peter Murphy, the singer of the band, is basically the daddy of goth!

It isn’t only the music that was dark, it is also the aesthetics. It is a combination of punk, 19th century Victorian fashion, vampire movies, and yes, BDSM elements. And as they were the ones founding the goth music genre, the link between goth and BDSM has never been totally broken. It is a lot of times in the aesthetics, but sometimes even in the music. These days more in the electronic side of things. But I will come to that in later posts, I am sure!

So the song I picked this time is called “Lagartija Nick” and it has a clear BDSM theme to it. The tune has a bit of a punk vibe to it, which I really enjoy! Well, go and give the song a listen! It is pretty awesome!

Move his way
Nice and Slow
Paint it all black
Let the humorous glow
He feels like sacher-masoch
And the fire below
Is licking at his lips
Cracks the whip
Come on crack
Crack the whip
Swallowing flames
Sinking in the snow
He enjoys feeling pain
He enjoys peeling slow
Lagartija Nick
It’s no dumb show
Your name’s on his whip
Crack the whip
Come on crack
A code of play
A nocturn rite
In the cruel garden of dark delights
Sixteen cages crawl in line
Desire is a heady wine
Come on crack
Crack
All in pain
It’s no dumb show
Fire below
Is licking at his lips
Swallowing flame
Crack

Fabulous song! I only really knew of Bauhaus from Bela Lugosi’s Dead, but I’m definitely going to check out more of their stuff. The sound of this track reminds me of Sisters of Mercy, whom I adore!
    Great post, excellent recommendation!

    • Bauhaus have some fantastic songs! And well, Sisters and Bauhaus are in the same niche of music, really. I find the Sisters quite reptiitive though, but some songs are good! Seeing them live is weird, because Andrew Eldritch is just hiding by wall of stage fog. Weird dude 😛
